- STAR OF BETHLEHEM U.A.M.E CHURCH HISTORY
Land owners, Francis Goods Woodland, Job. H Jackson, and the late Thomas G. Conrad owned land on West Summit Avenue in West Grove. Their land surrounded a small tract of land. On April 13, 1892, this Land was granted to a group of men to build a church. Those men were Steven Vance, Charles Wilson, Solomon Davis, Mark Wilson, and George Sweeney, the Trustees of said church. A resolution was written and signed by the congregation and the Trustees, then submitted to the Court for registration. It was accepted and recorded in the Deeds Book as Star of Bethlehem Church.
In June 1902, land was added by Milton and Carolyn Jackson. More Land was given in June 1912 by Ella T. and Solomon Pusey.
